Cyclist killed in Santa Monica hit-and-run is identified
Santa Monica police have identified a 30-year-old woman killed in a hit-and-run as she rode her bicycle along Pacific Coast Highway.
Erin Galligan, of Venice, was riding southbound near Entrada Drive when she was hit by a white pickup truck about 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, said Santa Monica police Sgt. Richard Lewis. Witnesses told police the driver continued on and later got on the 10 Freeway.
Galligan was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have described the truck as a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 extra cab pickup that has damage to the front grill, hood and headlight area. There was no description of the driver.
