Fireworks seized by Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies in the Antelope Valley this week
Authorities in Palmdale seized more than 300 pounds of illegal fireworks during the Fourth of July holiday and issued two dozen citations for possession of the contraband, officials at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office Palmdale Station said Thursday.

The city of Palmdale had funded special enforcement squads overnight that included 27 sheriff’s deputies and four supervisors, said Deputy Robbie Royster of the Palmdale station. The squads responded to 83 calls of illegal fireworks, Royster said.
