1 killed, 1 hurt in San Fernando Valley freeway crash

One person was killed and another injured after a vehicle flipped and caught fire Sunday evening on the 170 Freeway in North Hollywood, authorities said.

The wreck occurred at around 6:30 p.m. on the southbound side of the highway near Victory Boulevard, the California Highway Patrol said. Three cars were involved in the crash, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department, which also responded to the scene.

The names of the victims have not been released. CHP spokesman Christian Cracraft said investigators were trying to determine the cause of the crash.
