Woman in shower raped by intruder in Del Rey, police say

Police were looking Friday for a man who broke into a woman's Del Rey apartment as she was showering and raped her.

The attack occurred Thursday around 4 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 12500 block of Culver Boulevard, CBS Los Angeles reported.

A suspect was seen fleeing the scene in a newer model, silver Nissan, perhaps a two-door coupe, the TV station reported.

The woman was taken to a hospital, but no information was released about her injuries.

Residents of the building told KTLA-TV they were stunned by the crime. They said the complex is secure and there's a police station just down the street.

Police were reviewing security video to try to identify the suspect.
