Witnesses pull alleged attacker off woman near Runyon Canyon

A 21-year-old man was arrested after allegedly attacking a woman near Runyon Canyon in the Hollywood Hills on Saturday morning, police said.

The woman was walking on Fuller Avenue when the man grabbed her about 8:30 a.m. and tried to rape her, Los Angeles police Sgt. Sal Ogaz said.

Bryce Bonn, a witness to the attack, told ABC-7 that the man threw the victim to the ground and "tried to actually take off her pants."

Witnesses pulled the man off the woman and held him down until police arrived, Ogaz said. The suspect, identified as Dejan Sebastian, was booked in the Los Angeles County jail on charges of assault with intent to rape.

The woman, whose named was not released by police, suffered minor injuries but declined medical treatment, Ogaz said.
