Group needs help moving Disney sign to Sacramento

A group that supports the California State Fair is looking for help in moving Disney's "CALIFORNIA" sign from Southern California to Sacramento.

The Friends of the California State Fair says the help is needed to transport the giant letters that formerly stood in front of Disney's California Adventure Park, Sacramento's Fox40 reported.

According to the Sacramento Bee, Norb Bartosik, Cal Expo's chief executive and general manager, said transportation "is over and above what we budgeted to spend."

The combined weight of the letters is more than 8,000 pounds. They are currently in storage in Southern California.

Anyone with trailers to lend is asked to contact Friends of the California State Fair at (916) 833-9247.
