Wal-Mart sex assault suspect may have preyed on 20 boys, police say

Juan Gonzalez was arrested in connection with a Wal-Mart sex assaultA man arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a child in an Oxnard Wal-Mart store may have preyed on as many as 20 boys in the area, police said Monday.

Juan Francisco Gonzalez, 39, is suspected of assaulting boys between 7 and 10 years old, the Oxnard Police Department said.

"Detectives believe there are about 20 young boys who were sexually assaulted by Gonzalez," the department said in a statement.

So far, five victims have been identified, police said. The assaults may have been committed at Caballeros Circus on Saviers Road and Game Stop toy store on Rose Avenue in Oxnard, according to police.

Gonzalez was arrested May 26 in connection with the Wal-Mart assault. Police said a sexual assault was captured by the store's surveillance cameras.

Gonzalez was being held at Ventura County jail. He is not eligible for bail because of an immigration hold, police said.
