Murder suspect captured at border crossing
A murder suspect who fled to Mexico was arrested after he was found inside the trunk of a car heading into the U.S. through the border crossing at Otay Mesa, U.S. Customs and Border Protection authorities announced Friday.
The suspect, 22-year-old Jose Alejandro Gonzales, was wanted by police in connection with the killing of two people in a North Las Vegas home in April. Early Monday morning, customs inspectors pulled over a gray Chevrolet Impala after observing suspicious behavior from the driver, a 56-year-old woman, and her passenger, authorities said.
The car was scanned with a device that revealed the outline of Gonzales in the trunk. The two women in the car were not arrested.
