One killed, one arrested in Jefferson Park collision

Los Angeles police arrested a local man early Saturday after a deadly collision in Jefferson Park  left the wreckage of one vehicle wrapped around a pole.

Authorities said the collision occurred about 2:35 a.m. in the 4300 block of West Adams Boulevard.

The body of one motorist came to rest in the parking lot of a gas station at Adams and Crenshaw boulevards. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Los Angeles firefighters said.

The driver of the other vehicle, which overturned, was freed from the wreckage by firefighters and taken to a hospital, where he was listed in serious condition, police said.

No other details about the accident were available.
