Kings fans celebrate outside Staples CenterHundreds of fans celebrated at L.A. Live on Monday night after the Los Angeles Kings moved within one victory of the team's first Stanley Cup championship.

"This is euphoric," said J.D. Laske, a longtime fan from Thousand Oaks. "Just to be a part of it is unreal."

The Kings stormed past the New Jersey Devils 4-0 and will have a chance to win the title Wednesday at home.

Outside Staples Center, the crowd chanted: "One more win!" and "We want the cup!"

A Los Angeles police officer said the scene had been peaceful throughout.

Rich Cannan, a former season-ticket holder, said he flew in from Tampa on Monday morning to catch the game. "I just had to be here tonight. It's that simple," Cannan said. "This is pure joy."

Tony and Paula Megowan were in disbelief as they walked out of the arena toward Figueroa Street.

"Oh, my God, it's unbelievable!" Paula Megowan said.

"I was nervous at first, but that third period was ours, we owned it," her husband added. The couple, from Ventura, have been attending Kings games together since 1994.

"Tonight was magical," Tony Megowan said.
