Father, teenager daughter died of gunshots to head

The father and teenage daughter found dead in their apartment in San Diego were killed by gunshots to the head, the county medical examiner concluded Monday.

The bodies of Reuben Johnson, 56, and Aaliyah True Johnson, 14, were found Saturday after Johnson's wife, Regina, 55, called a friend in Washington state to say that her husband and daughter were dead.

The friend called local police, who in turn called San Diego police.

Regina Johnson was later arrested on suspicion of killing the two. She remains in county jail and is set for arraignment Wednesday. No motive for the slayings has been announced.

Police believe the father and daughter were killed Wednesday morning but that Regina Johnson remained in the apartment until she was taken into custody Saturday morning. She had recently lost her job in the financial services industry, police said.
