Earthquake: 3.0 quake strikes near Fillmore

A shallow magnitude 3.0 earthquake was reported Wednesday afternoon 11 miles from Fillmore, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 4:38 p.m. at a depth of 13.0 miles.

According to the agency, the epicenter was 14 miles from Santa Paula, 14 miles from Piru, 23 miles from Ventura and 54 miles from Los Angeles Civic Center.

In the last 10 days, there have been no earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
