L.A. County sheriff's deputies shoot man in Compton

Sheriff's deputies shot and wounded a man in Compton on Sunday, authorities said.

The incident occurred about 12:40 p.m. near Bullis Road and Orchard Avenue, said Deputy Mark Pope of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The suspect, whose age and name were not released, was taken to a local hospital, Pope said. There was no information on his condition.

The circumstances of the shooting were unknown, but Pope said no deputies were injured and there are no outstanding suspects.
