'Road rage' freeway brawl caught on video; CHP seeks four suspects

Authorities were searching Wednesday for four men in a brawl caught on video that occurred on the side of the 5 Freeway near downtown Los Angeles.

Cellphone video taken by a passing motorist shows four men involved in what began as a one-on-one fist fight on the northbound side of the freeway at 7th Street. By the end of the fight, two of the men are shown kicking the victim as he was sprawled on the ground.

California Highway Patrol Officer Francisco Villalobos confirmed a press conference would be held at 7 a.m. Wednesday at the Central Los Angeles CHP office to discuss the video. He would not provide any additional details about the fight until after the news conference.

KTLA says the video was taken June 12 and that the CHP received several 911 calls about the incident but no police report was ever filed.

The condition of the beating victim and the whereabouts of the three suspects were not immediately known.

The suspects left in a Volkswagen with California license plate number 3UGW962, according to KTLA.
