Carson man arrested in alleged golf club assault

A 45-year-old Carson man was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon Thursday after he allegedly struck another man in the head with a golf club, authorities reported.

Sheriff's deputies said that David Tupuola is suspected of attacking a 38-year-old man around 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the 24000 block of Neptune Avenue in Carson. The man suffered severe cuts, authorities said.

Tupuola went to a nearby residence, where he reportedly failed to obey the commands of deputies to leave the home. They took the suspect into custody after forcefully entering the location.

Deputies said that Tupuola was booked at the Carson Sheriff’s Station and was being held in lieu of $30,000 bail.
