Brush fire erupts in Beaumont

Firefighters were battling a wildland brush fire in Beaumont in Riverside County on Saturday afternoon.

The fire was first reported at 1:20 p.m. and had grown to 600 acres as of 3:50 p.m., pushed by west-blowing winds, according to CAL Fire/Riverside County Fire Department, which was battling the blaze.

The blaze started near Portrero Road and  the Wolfskill Extension Truck Trail.

Officials have not issued evacuation orders. No structures are threatened and no injuries reported.
