100 firefighters on scene of blaze in Boyle Heights

About 100 firefighters were on the scene Tuesday evening of a structure fire at a business in Boyle Heights, authorities said.

The Los Angeles Fire Department arrived in the 1400 block of Lorena Street shortly after the emergency call at 8:23 p.m. to find flames burning through the roof of a business, said Brian Humphrey, spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Humphrey could not identify the business or whether there were people inside the building.

"Once we clear the smoke out," he said, the investigation into the cause of the blaze will begin.
