Black bear spotted climbing tree in La Cañada Flintridge
Another black bear visited La Cañada Flintridge early Wednesday morning, climbing a tree in the backyard of a home, authorities said.
Lt. Angela Shepherd of the Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station said the bear was spotted in the 600 block of Pomander Place, a cul-de-sac southwest of the Foothill (210) Freeway.
Deputies were dispatched to the home, but the bear descended from its perch and left on its own around 7:15 a.m. The bear did not cause any damage.
Bear sightings have been a frequent occurrence in the neighborhood. Earlier this year, a trash-loving black bear frequented Glendale and La Crescenta until it was tranquilized, tagged and taken back into the Angeles National Forest in April.
