Pair in Beverly Hills Hilton apparent murder-suicide left note, police say

June 25, 2012 | 12:54 pm

A man and woman were found shot to death at the Beverly Hilton Hotel late Friday night in what appeared to be a murder-suicide, police said. The hotel, seen in this February file photo, hosted the Daytime Emmy Awards the next day.

The man and woman found dead in the Beverly Hills Hilton on Friday in an apparent murder-suicide had been living at the hotel for about six months, police said.

The names of the dead, a 70-year-old man and 56-year-old woman, have not been released pending notification of next of kin, Lt. Mark Rosen said Monday.

Police have released few details about the incident, citing an ongoing investigation, but Rosen said a note was found at the scene.

The pair was found shot to death about 10:50 p.m. Friday, Rosen said, less than 24 hours before the Daytime Emmy Awards began at the posh hotel. There was no known connection between the deaths and the event, investigators said.
