May 18, 2012 |  2:53 pm

Authorities said a woman found dead at an elementary school in Lakeview Terrace on Friday morning apparently hanged herself from a tree.

"At this point, it's being treated as a suicide," said Capt. John Kades with the Los Angeles County coroner's office. "First responders cut her down and determined she was dead."

Police found the body at Brainard Elementary School in the 11400 block of Brainard Avenue at 7:15 a.m. Friday.

The woman has not yet been identified. She was in her mid-30s, said Mario Sainz, an investigator with the coroner.

A receptionist who answered the phone at the elementary school office said from what she knew, no one personally knew the woman.
