Suspect accused of beating woman with shoe, rock in O.C.

Minh Tam Ti Phan is accused of beating a woman with a shoe and a rockA 50-year-old woman accused of beating a woman with a shoe and rock is expected to be arraigned Thursday on attempted murder and assault charges in Orange County Superior Court.

Minh Tam Ti Phan is charged with repeatedly striking the woman inside a car and during a foot chase that followed, according to the Orange County district attorney's office.

The woman had cuts to her head and lost a tooth, according to prosecutors.

Phan owed the woman $100,000 and met her in Orange County prior to the attack on April 22 ostensibly to pay her back, prosecutors said. Phan lives in San Diego County.

Phan was being held on $1 million bail. She is scheduled to be arraigned at the Westminster courthouse.
