Search continues for two girls taken from Long Beach motel

May 26, 2012 |  2:31 pm

Authorities are searching for two girls missing since Wednesday from a Long Beach motel.

Sharron Cherie Bess, 13, and Deony Cherie Goodwin, 9, were last seen with a woman called “CC,” who authorities say took the girls from a motel in the 800 block of East Pacific Coast Highway.

The children’s mother, who recently moved to the area from Northern California, told police the woman offered to help her take care of her daughters Wednesday night. Though the mother, who was not identified, did not know the woman, another motel resident vouched for her.

Video shows the girls leaving the motel with the suspect, a woman in her late 20s or early 30s. She has long hair, is approximately 5 feet 11 and is believed to live in Compton or on the west side of Long Beach.

Deony was wearing blue and green pajamas when last seen, authorities said. Sharron was wearing black gym shorts and a top.

Police officers have been searching door to door for the girls. Anyone with information about the case should call 911 or Long Beach police at (562) 435-6711.
