Reader photos: Southern California Moments, Day 142
Hummingbirds: Former talk-show host Jenny Jones took this photo of two baby hummingbirds on May 18 in Hollywood. Jones said she found the nest with two small eggs in it in April, and that the eggs hatched on May 1.
"We live in the Hollywood Hills on the valley side and the nest, which measures about 1 1/2 inches across, was built in a trumpet vine plant in our back yard," said Jones on Facebook. "I've been taking their pictures every day and posted daily photos in my blog (www.jennyjones.com/myblog) and some on Facebook."
Jones also added that to get the photo, she had to climb a ladder with a flashlight and use hair clips to clip back vines.
