Patient killed by fellow patient at care facility, police say

A Pasadena man told police he killed a fellow patient at a residential care facility on Monday, according to Pasadena Police Lt. Phlunte Riddle.

At around 5 p.m. Monday, police looking into a call of a suspicious death went to Pasadena Residential Care  at 1435 N. Garfield Ave.

Once on the scene police were approached by resident Paul Lopez, 38, who said he had killed a fellow resident, a man in his 60s. Lopez did not indicate his motive, according to Riddle.

Lopez was arrested. The victim’s identity has not been released pending notification of the next of kin.
