Owner of dog strapped with explosives: 'It disgusts me'

DogThe owner of a dog who was hurt after someone strapped explosives to it said she was disgusted with what happened to her pet.

The Stockton dog is being treated for injuries to its back as police try to determine who attached the explosives and detonated them.

"I just want to get my animal back," said Shukriyyah Albaaqee.  "It disgusts me what they did to him and I will be pressing charges."

Investigators said the incident occurred Wednesday. Neighbors reported hearing a loud boom and came across an injured dog.

The dog, a long-haired dachshund, was taken to a pet clinic, for non-life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses described a possible suspect to police, and detectives are looking for the person responsible.
