Obama event at George Clooney's home expected to snarl traffic
Obama will be attending a dinner fundraiser at Clooney's Studio City home, a party expected to gross $15 million for the president's reelection campaign, according to organizers.
Details on street closures were released on Twitter by Councilman Paul Krekorian, who represents the area.
Motorists driving on Laurel Canyon Boulevard and adjacent streets north of Ventura Boulevard can expect delays and/or street closures from 5 p.m to 8 p.m.
"If you live south of Ventura in Studio City ... local access to the area will be virtually sealed off from about 8 to 10 p.m., meaning all local residents will need to show a current photo ID for home access," Krekorian said in a letter.
He said police are advising residents in Fryman Canyon to stay home or make other arrangements for the day.
The president will be arriving at 6 p.m at Los Angeles International Airport and will be taken to Studio City in a helicopter and by motorcade.
Obama will be spending the night in Beverly Hills.
