Morning fog to clear for 80-degree temperatures

Tuesday might have started off gray and foggy, but forecasters said gloomy skies should give way to some of the warmest temperatures Los Angeles will see this week.

An offshore flow is expected to clear the clouds by about noon, the National Weather Service reported, making way for a high of about 82 degrees.

"Things will get pretty warm this afternoon," said meteorologist Scott Sukup.

Temperatures in Los Angeles and along the coast will cool off slightly as the week goes on, Sukup said. Although downtown could see temperatures in the low 80s Wednesday, forecasters anticipate the rest of the week to hover in the mid- to upper-70s.

"We'll have more typical May, June weather," Sukup said. "It's not going to be not quite as warm as today."
