Man fatally shot in suspected gang incident in South L.A.

A 28-year-old man was shot to death early Sunday in South Los Angeles in what police said was a gang-related incident.

The victim, whose name was not released, was killed about 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of Broadway and 37th Street when an unknown assailant walked up and shot him several times in the chest, Los Angeles police officer Gregory Baek said Sunday afternoon.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, Baek said. No arrests had been made.
