L.A. Now Live: Chat about Manny Pacquiao, Assessor John Noguez

Join Los Angeles Times reporter Andrew Blankstein and City Editor Shelby Grad for a discussion about the controversy surrounding boxer Manny Pacquiao's stand on gay marriage and the Grove shopping center's decision to ban him.

Reporter Jack Dolan will also be discussing the latest on the investigation into Los Angeles County Assessor John Noguez. The chat is scheduled for 9 a.m. Thursday.

Dist. Atty. Steve Cooley on Wednesday said he believes that Noguez should step down. The assessor's office has been the focus of an investigation since last year that has centered on tax breaks allegedly extended to Noguez campaign contributors and would-be contributors. Property tax bills are based on assessed values, which are determined by Noguez's staff. A lower assessed value means a lower tax bill.
