ICE agent shot dead in his Carson home

An investigation is underway in Carson, where a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent was fatally shot inside his home Wednesday night.

The shooting was reported just after 9 p.m. in the 19300 block of Broadacres Avenue. Investigators at the scene said someone fired shots from outside the house.

The victim's identity has not been released, and the motive for the shooting remains unknown.

Several ICE agents were on the scene Thursday morning, in addition to Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies.

Authorities said the incident is not related to the recent string of birdshot shootings in the area.
