High school golf coach arrested on suspicion of having sex with student
A golf coach at Moreno Valley High School was arrested Thursday on suspicion of having sex with a 17-year-old student.
The suspect, David Brohamer, has been a teacher at the Riverside County school since 2006 and coaches boys’ and girls’ golf.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, on May 24 a student told a school resource officer that Brohamer was having a relationship with a student at the school.
Detectives tracked down the student and “confirmed an inappropriate sexual relationship occurred between Mr. Brohamer and the victim,’’ according to a statement released by the law enforcement agency. Investigators determined that the relationship began when the victim was 17 and continued for several months.
