Woman killed by hit-and-run driver in North Hollywood

Los Angeles police Friday night were investigating an apparent hit-and-run that left an unidentified woman dead in North Hollywood.

At 10 p.m. officers were canvassing the 4100 block of Cahuenga Boulevard, near Lankershim Boulevard, for potential witnesses, said LAPD spokesman Bruce Borihanh.

A four-door sedan with collision damage to the front end was seen speeding away from the area, Borihanh said.

He had no other description of the car or the victim, who was found lying in the street.

Police got the first report about the incident at 8:55 p.m.
