The two-vehicle crash happened just after 8:30 p.m. on the Bolsa Chica Road overpass at the San Diego Freeway, said Capt. Marc  Stone, spokesman for the Orange County Fire Authority.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene, and two others were taken to a hospital in critical condition, he said.
