Earthquake: 3.0 quake strikes near Pritchards Station, Nev.

A shallow magnitude 3.0 earthquake was reported Thursday morning 21 miles from Pritchards Station, Nev., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 9:41 a.m. PDT at a depth of 0 miles.

[Updated at 11:54 a.m., May 31: After review by a seismologist, the USGS has deleted this earthquake.]

According to the USGS, the epicenter was 28 miles from Warm Springs, Nev., 38 miles from Lockes, Nev., 54 miles from Tonopah, Nev., and 179 miles from Las Vegas.

In the last 10 days, there have been no earthquakes magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
