Burglar steals bike from Junior Seau's home

A burglar broke into the garage of Junior Seau's oceanfront home in Oceanside and stole a bicycle, officials said Wednesday.

The theft occurred about five days after the football star was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The burglar entered the garage through a doggie-door and rummaged through cabinets but did not enter the house, police said.

The gray bike with a black seat is valued at $500.

Seau, 43, was found dead May 2. For days after his death, well-wishers left flowers and other signs of appreciation outside of the home and kept a virtual round-the-clock vigil.

A celebration of Seau's life, sponsored by the San Diego Chargers, drew thousands of attendees to Qualcomm Stadium on Friday, hours after Seau was buried at Eternal Hills Memorial Park in Oceanside.
