Angeles Crest Highway closure extended after body discovered

Angeles Crest Highway remained closed Thursday morning as sheriff’s homicide detectives investigated the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a man’s body on the side of the road.

The highway was closed about three miles north of the 210 Freeway, at the 27.5 mile marker, about 6:20 a.m. Officials originally said it would be closed for four hours but are now saying it will reopen at 3:30 p.m.

The highway is a frequently used route between the L.A. basin and the Antelope Valley.

No further details were available from the L.A. County Sheriff's Department.
