22-year-old Camp Pendleton Marine killed in Afghanistan

A Marine from Camp Pendleton has been killed in combat in Afghanistan, the Department of Defense announced Monday.

Sgt. Wade Wilson, 22, of Normangee, Texas, was killed Friday in Helmand province.

He was an anti-tank missileman with the 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division at Camp Pendleton.

Wilson joined the Marine Corps in June 2007. This was his second deployment to Afghanistan.
