A 101-year-old man died after he was struck by a 91-year-old driver in Burbank, police said.

Officers were called to Olive Avenue and Griffith Park Drive about 8:15 p.m. Tuesday after the victim had been hit, said Sgt. Darin Ryburn of the Burbank Police Department.

Paramedics began treating the man, identified as Otto Jensen of Burbank, at the scene before taking him to a hospital, where he died of his injuries, Ryburn said.

The driver, Mary Beaumont, also of Burbank, has not been charged, but the investigation is ongoing, Ryburn said. Police still aren't sure what led to the accident or if Jensen was in a crosswalk at the time.

"It's sad all around," Ryburn said.

Investigators ask anyone with information to call Det. Sam Anderson at (818) 238-3100.
