Two men in custody after allegedly dumping dead friend in dumpster

Two men are in custody after allegedly shooting a friend they were drinking with and then throwing his body in a dumpster in Van Nuys.

Tito Diaz, 43, and William Jimenez, 25, were arrested in the death of their 25-year-old friend, Los Angeles police said. They are in Los Angeles County Jail in lieu of $1-million and $500,000 bail, respectively.

The victim’s name was not released pending notification of next of kin.

The two men were allegedly drinking with their friend in an apartment Sunday night, with Diaz and the victim passing a gun back and forth. At some point, two shots were fired, hitting the victim in the head and killing him, police said.

Diaz and Jimenez then allegedly tried to dispose of the corpse in a dumpster.

Police did not comment on how the body was discovered.
