Soldier from Simi Valley killed in Afghanistan

A U.S. Army soldier from Simi Valley has been killed in Afghanistan, the Department of Defense announced Saturday night.

Staff Sgt. Andrew Brittonmihalo, 25, died Wednesday in Kandahar province after being wounded by small-arms fire. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group, from Eglin Air Force Base, Fla.
