Soldier from Huntington Park killed in Afghanistan


A U.S. Army soldier from Huntington Park has been killed in Afghanistan, the Department of Defense announced.

Spec. Moises Gonzalez, 29, died Wednesday of injuries sustained in a vehicle rollover accident in Balkh province in northern Afghanistan.  He was assigned to the 509th Combat Service Support Company, 504th Battlefield Surveillance Brigade, from Ft. Hood, Texas.
