San Diego man arrested, says 'voices' told him to sacrifice son

A 30-year-old man was arrested Saturday in San Diego's Mount Hope Cemetery on suspicion of child abuse and assault with a deadly weapon after, police said, he used a knife to slice the arms of his 8-year-old son on the command of "voices in his head."

The man, whose name was not released, said the voices told him to take his family to the public cemetery and then sacrifice his son, police said. After cutting his son, the man sliced his own forearms.

The man was taken to a trauma center before being booked into San Diego County jail. His son was taken to a hospital.
