Break time: Strolling through Descanso Gardens in La Cañada Flintridge, John Dreyer happened upon this bird perched on a tree. "I noticed the hummingbird feeding on the blossoms in the tree in which he finally settled," Dreyer said. "He rested on the branch for three or four minutes seemingly oblivious to my being there." Dreyer shot this photo April 1.
