Man found dead, woman shot in Altadena

A man who apparently shot a woman and then barricaded himself inside an Altadena home was found dead at the residence Sunday evening, authorities said.

The man allegedly shot the woman at a home in the 3200 block of North Lincoln Avenue about 3:30 p.m., according to Mark Pope of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities believe the woman may have been related to the shooter, but details were still unclear Sunday evening on their relationship.

The man was armed with a long rifle, authorities said, and was “believed to have several other weapons inside [the] residence,” according to a department news release.

Deputies found the man dead when they entered the house later Sunday evening. Neither he nor the woman have been identified.
