Boaters rescued off Bodega Bay

A 7-year-old boy and two men stranded on a boat near Bodega Bay were rescued early Sunday morning, authorities said.

The boaters, who were all found in good condition, had been on a fishing trip but were reported missing, the U.S. Coast Guard said.

Authorities said a rescue effort was launched at 11:30 p.m. Saturday after someone alerted the Coast Guard.

A 47-foot motor lifeboat and a helicopter were sent to locate the boaters, and the Coast Guard said their vessel was eventually found and towed back to Bodega Bay.
