Fatal accident closes lanes on 14 Freeway in Santa Clarita

At least one person was killed Monday evening when a vehicle went over the side of the northbound Antelope Valley Freeway in Santa Clarita, according to the California Highway Patrol

The vehicle caught fire and set a small brush fire, authorities said. The Los Angeles County Fire Department is responding at the scene.

The crash has forced the closure of two lanes on the northbound side of the freeway, according to CHP Officer Tatiana Sauquillo.

The accident was reported just before 8:30 p.m. It was unclear how long the lanes would remain blocked. No other details were immediately available.
