Earthquake: 3.0 quake strikes near Ocotillo

A shallow magnitude 3.0 earthquake was reported Wednesday afternoon 12 miles from Ocotillo, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 1:59 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 1.2 mile.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was 15 miles from Seeley, 20 miles from Heber, 20 miles from El Centro and 69 miles from Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico.

In the last 10 days, there have been 10 earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
