At least six people were injured Thursday when a car careened into a San Fernando Valley dental office, leaving three people critically injured and two pinned by the vehicle, Los Angeles fire officials said.

The car crashed through the front of the office in a strip mall in the 6800 block of North White Oak Avenue in Lake Balboa about 9:30 a.m., officials said.

Los Angeles Fire Department Inspector Matt Spence said at least six people were injured and three of those were ''critical."

Spence said two had to be extricated after they were pinned by the car. Three other people were considered in "fair" condition he said.

Details about the driver were not available. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
