Man wounded in shooting outside Del Amo swap meet

A man was wounded Thursday afternoon in a shooting outside the Del Amo swap meet in Rancho Dominguez, authorities said.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department received a call at 4:52 p.m. that two people were injured during a shootout in the 27000 block of East Del Amo Boulevard. Deputies found one male victim outside the swap meet when they arrived.

The victim had a single gunshot wound to the thigh, according to a preliminary report from the watch commander. He was taken to Long Beach Memorial Hospital.

Deputies are combing the area in search of the assailant but no description was immediately available because witnesses gave conflicting statements.

Authorities believe the shooting was gang-related.
