April 26, 2012 |  5:47 pm

A 21-year-old man was in stable condition Thursday after being shot while driving on the northbound 110 Freeway in Carson, authorities said.

The victim, whose name was not released, was near the Figueroa Street onramp about 2:45 p.m. when at least one gunshot was fired at his windshield, California Highway Patrol Officer Christian Cracraft said.

The victim managed to pull his black sedan over to the side of the highway and call 911. Cracraft said the man suffered moderate injuries to the head from either a gunshot or debris and was taken to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.

The right lane of the highway was closed for the investigation. Authorities have no suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call the CHP at (310) 516-3355.
